Globally, there is a sense of trust toward organisations with a .org TLD, as companies ‘for gain’ are also using .org to represent their charitable endeavours.
The Board of Directors is composed of various well-respected and renowned members from around the world. They are all experts in their chosen fields and are responsible for the development, administration and management of PIR.
The Advisory Council is composed of world leaders from a broad spectrum of non-commercial organisations. They advise on all issues relating to public policy, the introduction of new services. The Advisory Council is comprised of Working Groups, who provide analysis and input towards various projects undertaken by the PIR.
UniForum was founded by a group of entrepreneurs and engineers in 1981, to provide a forum for those interested in Unix and open systems.
UniForum SA is a non-profit association for developers, vendors, value-added resellers, and end users alike. They promote development of open system technologies and hardware, hold conferences and seminars, and release publications to educate their membership community, and provide leadership in the development of industry standards.
The ZACR embarked on an ambitious project of developing and rolling out a new Registry / Registrar EPP solution in 2010, this EPP solution is in-line with international standards and was launched in September 2011.
