How to Add a Blog Widget

Before you begin, ensure your Site Builder plan is active. Then follow these steps:

1. Login to your Domains.co.za Account.

2. In your client dashboard, click Manage Services and choose Site Builder from the menu on the left-hand side.

3. Select the Site Builder button to open your Website Builder workspace.

4. Alternatively, select your Web Hosting service from the Manage Services menu, click Manage next to your domain and click Site Builder under the Quick Manage options. 

5. From the main toolbar, drag and drop the Blog element onto your page.

6. Choose your preferred blog composition from the available layout options.

7. Select your blog section and click New Blog Post in the right-hand toolbar to start creating your first post.

8. Add your picture, title, date, time, category, and status.

9. Write your blog content in the text section.

Once you’ve added your content, your blog post will automatically appear in the blog section of your website.

Customising Your Blog

You can easily personalise your blog’s design to match your website’s look and feel.

Gallery Pictures

  1. Select the gallery section in your blog.
  2. In the right-hand toolbar, click Pictures.
  3. Add or edit each image’s title, link, address, and description.

Background

  1. Select the gallery section.
  2. Click Background in the right toolbar.
  3. Choose your preferred background colour and opacity for a polished appearance.

Thumbnails

You can fine-tune your blog’s thumbnail settings by adjusting:

  1. Width, height, and padding.
  2. Alignment.
  3. Animation effects for both default and hover states.

This ensures your blog posts are displayed consistently across your site.

Filter

To help visitors find content quickly:

  1. In the right-hand toolbar, click the box next to Show text search filter.
  2. This will add a search bar and filtering options to your blog section for easy navigation.

Captions

Control how image captions appear on your blog:

  1. Choose the caption display style.
  2. Set the background colour.
  3. Customise the text font and style.

Animation

Bring your blog to life with smooth transitions and effects:

  1. Choose an Effect, Direction, Duration, and Delay from the available animation settings in the right toolbar.

Date Format Configuration

You can configure how the date and time are displayed for each blog post:

  1. Select Listing in the right toolbar.
  2. Find Date format.
  3. Add your preferred date and time format using the special variables (year, month, day, hours) from the list provided.
  4. Once you’re done, close the Date Format settings window.

This allows your blog to display the date exactly how you want — whether it’s “06 November 2025” or “2025/11/06 14:00”.

Login to Domains.co.za Account

1. Go to the Domains.co.za Login website page.

2. Enter your Email and Password and click the “Sign In” button.

3. You will see the Domains.co.za Dashboard, displaying the Manage Account menu on the left and your Account Information, Account Overview and Open Support Tickets on the right.

Login to cPanel from your Domains.co.za Dashboard

4. Click on Manage Services to view the sub-dropdown menu and select the hosting package for the domain you want to work with – in our example we are using Web Hosting.

5. Click the Manage button to the right of the domain name you want to access.

6. The display will now show Product Information, Quick Manage, Resource Usage and Site Statistics for that domain name.

7. Under Product Information, scroll down to Control Panel, which will display cPanel to the right, and click on the Login button.

8. The cPanel Dashboard will now be displayed.
