Domains.co.za – Gadget Picks for Christmas – Part 1
It is hard to believe, but Christmas is almost right around the corner; visiting your nearest mall will confirm this, as the decor is already up! That’s why we thought it is a great time to share our favourite, most innovative, 2020 gadget-picks.
Whether you are staying home or heading out for the December holidays, here are a few practical gadgets that will either entertain you or simplify your life.
1. Nintendo Switch
Not a fan of the kids hogging the television for their noisy games? Let’s talk about the Nintendo Switch. This home console can entertain the kids literally anywhere and doesn’t need a TV in order to work. However, it can also dock into the TV should they want that HD, large screen, gaming experience. One single device can switch into a two-player game, and if the neighbour’s kids also have a console, they can play multi-player games together.
2. Apple AirPods Pro
After the 50th video call you are probably very aware of your background noises, whether at home or the office. Bet you are not loving your knotted earphone cords either? In-ear headphones are a great solution. Apple’s AirPods Pro boasts Active Noise Cancellation that fits snuggly into your ear. It comes with three different sizes of silicone tips and literally blocks out all external sounds, special vents also help you equalise pressure.
3. Fujifilm Instax Mini 9
It’s time to start sticking our memories up on the fridge, or the wall again, and instant film cameras are a great way to do that. Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 comes in 7 different fun colours; like Ice Blue and Flamingo Pink. This camera has a selfie mirror and a macro attachment lens that can assist with close-up (35 cm) focus.
4. Anker PowerCore 10 000
In a digital age a portable charger is a must. But which one? We like the sound of the Anker PowerCore 10 000, which claims to have enough power to be able to recharge most smartphones twice. It also has a USB-C and a USB-A output for simultaneous charging.
5. Doss E-Go II
Nothing like a portable Bluetooth speaker to get you in the mood for the holiday. We love that the Doss E-Go II is waterproof (we are thinking pool parties) and its balanced sound, long lasting battery and compact design also fit the bill.
6. Infant Optics DXR-8 Baby Monitor
Any parents-to-be should add the award-winning DXR-8 Baby Monitor from Infant Optics to their Christmas list. This monitor lets parents enjoy 720P HD video resolution, offers 2-way audio and active noise reduction. Best of all it is the first ever monitor to boast interchangeable lenses (zoom and wide angle). No more getting up to find your baby is already fast asleep again.
7. Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Fold
We are captivated by the world’s 1st foldable PC. The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Fold has everything you want under its hood (Intel ? Core ™i5 & Intel Hybrid) and a split-screen visual appeal that is nothing other than breath-taking. Accessories like its kickstand, magnetic keyboard and styling pen make it the ultimate laptop for home, the office and on-the-go.
There are seven more gadgets we’d like to feature and will do so in Part 2 of this series.
