This article covers how to manage files: FTP Voyager being the FTP client that we are using. Managing files in FTP Voyager is done by anyone responsible for the maintenance of a website, and is not exclusively for the use of developers and administrators on Web Hosting servers. It allows for uploading and downloading website files, overseeing directories, editing HTML/CSS files, and performing other tasks necessary for website maintenance.

How to Manage Files FTP Voyager

To manage files – FTP Voyager is also important for faster data transfers, collaboration, backup, automation, and security. This tutorial assumes you already have FTP Voyager running on your computer and are connected to a remote server. 

The following steps will show you how to manage and edit files and folders in the FTP Voyager interface. 

Create a New Folder

1. Click New Folder. 

2. Choose and enter a name for the new folder. 

That’s it! The new folder should be created and can be viewed here. 

Rename a Folder

3. Now, let’s rename the folder. Select the folder you want to change and click Rename. 

4. Enter the new name of the folder. 

You should now see the new name of the folder. 

Delete a Folder

5. Now, let’s delete the folder. Select the folder name and click Delete. 

The folder should be deleted. Now, we’ll show you how to change file permissions.

6. Select a file or folder and click Properties.

Now, let’s change some of the permissions or attributes of this file or folder. Keep in mind File Properties differ from folder properties, as shown in the menu below:
