How to Install Coppermine via Softaculous

This article assumes that you have already logged into your Domain account and have accessed your cPanel Dashboard.

1. Scroll through the cPanel Dashboard Tools to the Software section.

2. Click on the Softaculous app icon.

3. Type in the app you want in the Search field, or click the Image Galleries category in the left hand menu and select Coppermine from the apps displayed in the dropdown menu.

4. The Coppermine Overview will be displayed.

5. Click the Install button, this will take you to the default Custom Install screen, please bear in mind that the default settings here should work for most purposes and that the Admin Password defaults to Show

6. Under Software Setup, it will default to the domain you logged into cPanel from. Choose Installation URL, by setting the Protocol, Domain and the Directory. Leaving the Directory blank, will default to the main website directory.

7. Under Gallery Settings, set the Gallery Name and Gallery Description, these can be changed later from the software’s Admin panel.

8. In Admin Account, complete the Admin Username, Password and Email address – it is not advisable to use the default Username of “admin“, however the Password is encrypted and can be changed. The default setting of the Password is set to Show, so can easily be viewed.

IMPORTANT:

Please make a note of the Username & Password that you have chosen, or add them to a Password Manager for future login purposes.

9. Click Install. After a moment, the software will be installed.
