This article assumes you have already logged in to your Domains.co.za account, installed FileZilla on your device, and are ready to set up your website using this FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client.

1. Launch FileZilla on your computer.

2. Under File, choose Site Manager.

3. The Site Manager window will open

4. Click on New Folder and type in a name for it.

5. Click on New Site.

6. Select the General tab and enter your FTP Hostname.

7. If you have a custom FTP port, you can enter it here. If you don’t know what it is, leave it blank.

8. Generally, the Protocol will default to FTP – File Transfer Protocol.

9. Encryption can either be set as Use plain FTP, or it can be configured manually.

10. Select a Logon Type from the drop-down menu. You will be given the option to choose Anonymous, Normal, Ask for Password, Interactive, or Account.

11. Use Normal to log in and enter your Username and Password.

12. Select the Advanced tab and complete the Default Local Directory and Default Remote Directory details.

13. Select the Transfer Settings tab and ensure you have the correct transfer mode, if necessary.

14. Click OK.

15. Now, you can easily connect to your site by clicking the Connect Icon in the menu bar.

That’s it! You are now connected to the remote server, and your login details are saved.

You can disconnect by clicking the Disconnect icon (located 9th from the right) or by clicking Server in the menu bar and selecting Disconnect.
