This article will show you how to create a new cPanel account in WHM. WHM allows authorised server administrators and resellers to create and manage individual cPanel hosting accounts. Creating a new cPanel account is generally one of the first steps when setting up hosting for a new website, client or domain.
A cPanel account provides an isolated environment where website files, databases, email accounts, domains and other services can be managed. WHM controls the account-level settings and resources that are made available to that cPanel user.
Before creating an account, it is important to have the required domain information, account username, password, contact email address and hosting package details available.
The Create a New Account interface in WHM allows authorised users to configure the domain, username, password, contact email address and package associated with a new cPanel account.
The package determines various resources and features available to the account. Depending on your server configuration, you may also be able to configure options such shell access and CGI access.
